The HJ Hoffman Company has survived for more than 125 years. Seriously.

Founder H.J. Hoffman was a kind of a horse whisperer, way before movies and cable made it hip. It's truly a classic (but told amusingly) American immigrant success story. But first, let's talk about now.

Scrren printing company starts by selling watermelons

Yes, those are watermelons our great grandfather has in front of our company like a hundred years ago. No, we still don't stock fresh melon. Glad you can amuse yourself at our expense. Oh, you mean one printed in five colors on a 100 -percent cotton long sleeve Tee? Seriously dude. We're all about that.

Today, we provide printed and embroidered apparel and accessories to corporations, non-profits, events and the creative agencies which support them. Our offerings, services and support are tailored to help these organizations advance their brands. We take the needs and wants of our customers seriously, but not ourselves.

Our motto—thanks for inquiring!—is just ask us. If an item can be obtained and a look printed or embroidered (or both!), we will make it happen. If you need design services or fast turnaround, just ask us.

If you do have a wild-seeming idea (it's not required!), just consider us branded apparel whisperers, in keeping with the family tradition. Imagine an initially uncooperative garment, perhaps an athletic cut 100-percent cotton pique polo, five ink colors and a saddle. There's also a corral, golden sunlight, swirling dust and a relationship fraught with magnetic but unresolved  attraction. We ride up and get the saddle on the shirt. Seriously.

Hoffman amusingly-told history time!

Of course, you might care for history less than New York respects New Jersey. This is why you will be thrilled to know that after the next three brief and sparkling paragraphs on founder H.J., we are going to cover a next century of Hoffman history in one slightly long but grammatically faultless sentence.

Okay. In the late 1800's, a then-young H.J. immigrated to the United States from Germany. He went  to Ellis Island, which was then also a tourist destination.

H.J. Hoffman company deliver corporate apparel

The H.J. Hoffman Company has always invested in the latest high technology. Notice the tw0-digit phone number right under where grandpa is sitting.

Jobs digging subway tunnels with a shovel sucked just as much then as they would today. Still, H.J. was happy for the work on New York's system. Or maybe not. When he observed that construction crews worked the wagons and horses (and maybe the men too!) until they collapsed and died, he smelled an  opportunity to put down the shovel.

He saved some money and purchased a few worn-out horses and wagons. He repaired and sold the wagons. He then took the horses to White Plains, where he leased some farmland and nursed (whispered!) the ailing animals back to health. He thus earned contracts for supplying refurbished horses to the New York subway system.

One hundred years (approximately) in one sentence!

After that, the company went through several growth stages in White Plains until, in a moment of inspiration, H.J.'s great grandson, David Hoffman, added promotional garments to the product and service mix, the market for subway construction horses having long ago dried up; someone also decided to move the company closer to the ocean in Connecticut, where today we, David and Michael Hoffman, are ready to help you advance your brand but slightly regretting (okay a lot) that our ancestors did not also keep large amounts of Westchester County real estate!, etc.

Seriously.
